Not too much has been going on, but my blog needs an update so here goes...
The beginning of the week found us down at my grandparents house picking up the dogs which we have not seen since we left for Pennsylvania. Speaking of the dogs, I have some rather sad news about them. With our transition to Centerville and being in rental houses that don't allow pets, we have decided not to keep our puppies. In fact, we've already given them away. The good news though is that it was our very good friends, the Brothers family, that took them; so we know without a doubt that they will be very well taken care of and they will have lots of hands to pet them!
But enough depressing news. On Tuesday, we celebrated a very dear friend's birthday. Tricia Ann Lingo is now 18! So hard to believe... After dinner at the Lingos', we all went contra dancing! What fun we had! It's been such a long time since we've danced. We really need to get one together at church tomorrow.
Thursday, I had a violin recital that, for me, went better than I had expected. I had never felt so unprepared for a recital and it really wasn't the best feeling to have right before I had to play. But to my delight, everything went very well. I was a little saddened though at the thought that that was probably my last recital with my teacher and the rest of her students. Oh, and by the way, if you ever need a great violin teacher, I highly recommend Miss Grace Simmons. She is a wonderful person and excellent teacher; she really makes playing the violin fun.
We finally got back into school this week, or at least we tried to. Our house is getting in order though. We have all the leaking bathtubs and toilets repaired, all the electrical problems have been fixed (and that was done by Caleb, without Dad's help; we are so proud of him and he is extremely proud of himself), just about all the burned out light bulbs have been replaced, and after about 56, we are still finding more. We've got curtains hung up, water filters in place, loose screws in doors replaced, even Dad's office is all set up.
I will hopefully get that photoshow of our vacation up pretty soon, so hang in there. Organizing 450 pictures takes some time.
Thank you! Now that I know how, I will try to get an update on there as soon as possible.
ReplyDeleteI had a good time Tuesday too. Thank you for coming. I'll try to post really soon.

I really know what you mean about feeling unprepared about recitals.I often feel the same right before my violin recitals.
