Phase number...

...the next one. I lost count a long time ago. Since October, we have tried living various places, none of which we could actually call ours. First, it was a house on a lake, which was really nice except we were in it during the winter and couldn't enjoy the lake very much. Next we tried out the Stouffers' new house for them, just to make sure everything was alright (no snake holes or anything) but then we got in their way. So then we thought it might be fun to live in an RV for awhile, you know, just to see what it would be like.

Okay, so that's not really how it went. The first part was right, but the RV? Not really. Yes, we're living in one, but no, not for pleasure. Since we didn't have the barn finished by the time we had to be out of the Stouffers' place, three of us (Dad, Caleb, and me) are now living in an RV till the house is completed, while the rest of the family is down in middle Georgia with grandparents. So we are really motivated to get this project behind us. Work is getting done, for which we are very thankful, but there are times when it seems like we just can't get anywhere; things keep coming in and setting us back.

Since my last update on the barn we have gotten water out here and the AC has been hooked up (though not turned on since we don't have electricity), the painting is almost done and the T&G has been put up on the porch roof. We are desperately hoping to get an electrical inspection on Monday so that the electricity can be turned on.

So that's basically what we've been doing: moving and working on the barn. We had to take a short trip down to Atlanta last week to pick up some appliances for the kitchen, and we also helped some friends process about 250 chickens. That was quite an experience. And I don't mean that in a negative way; we had fun and learned a lot.

We are really missing our family in GA. Mom's wisdom, the girls' chatter, Jonathan's faces and smart comments; it feels so empty without them here. But we'll all be together again soon and oh, what a day of rejoicing that will be!
