Long time, no post. . .

. . .I know. But maybe in a few minutes after I tell you why, you'll forgive me. For now, we'll just leave out the usuals-- school, housework, laundry, garden, cooking, etc.-- and get straight to the big thing that is going on. Saturday. . .yes, this Saturday. . .we're having a wedding. A couple of people in our church, both of whom we've known for quite some time now, are getting married! Isn't that exciting? But somehow with excitement always come busyness, or so it seems. I was asked to play my violin in the wedding, which of course is an exciting (yeah, I'll probably use that word about twenty times before this post is over with) thought, but because of moving and building a house and all that fun stuff, I haven't really practiced in. . .well, let's just say that it's been awhile. And I've never played in a wedding before! In fact, I don't think I've ever played for more than fifty people at one time! Needless to say, I've been practicing and practicing, and I'm still practicing. And it helps very much that three other wonderful musicians are playing with me. If it were not for them, I couldn't do it.

I'm not the only one from our family that will be in the wedding. Daddy will be the pastor officiating, Caleb will be an usher (although ushering is not officially "in the wedding", he insists that we say that it is, and, yes, he will be at the rehersal), and Abigail and Anna are two of the flower girls!

In addition to my violin practicing, my sewing list is growing. Right now I am making three of the flower girls' dresses, trying to sew a new dress for Kenan, and Caleb wants me to make his suit pants bootcut! Wonder were he got an idea like that?

So we're down to the "crunch week." We have a family staying with us for the wedding, and they will be arriving on Thursday. Daddy and Caleb have electrical work to do for the wedding reception. We're also having to think about the Lord's Day with a lot of extra people coming in. It's getting. . .yup, you guessed it. . .exciting!

I've never been this much involved in a wedding before, and I really am not doing a whole lot, but it's a lot of fun, and I'm glad to be able to help where needed. We're all very much looking forward to this big event and can't wait to celebrate with Nate 'n' Kate! Congratulations, you guys!
