". . . just another reminder, that God's been good to me!"

Last Monday evening we gathered with family and friends aboard the Island Queen at Lake Lanier to celebrate my grandfather's 70th birthday. He didn't think he would make it to sixty, so my grandmother thought it appropriate to throw a party and rejoice in his seventy years. And throw a party she did! We enjoyed a dinner cruise at sunset on a beautiful lake in north Georgia. We ate, laughed, sang, cried, danced, and simply enjoyed the company of those we love and the good life that God has given us!

Up until this point, the party was actually a surprise. And to keep something this big a secret from Giddo is a pretty big deal. :)

Someone please remind us to never again let Chip start us in singing Happy Birthday. It was the most awful rendition I have ever heard! But it gave us some good laughs.

The sunset that evening was beautiful.

And so were my parents. :)

Photo bombed by Anna's eye. . .

"Make goofy faces!" says Abigail.
And despite the questionable look, I dearly love these people. :)

These two were awesome! And they danced the night away!

I don't think they remembered that they were 70, not 17. ;)
