Quo Vadis is a good book. I also wonder if you might enjoy something by Sir Walter Scott such as Ivanhoe. I bet your Dad and Mom could give you some good suggestions, too!

How about the 'Silmarillion'by J.R.R. Tolkein. It's all about the Numenor's and Morgoth, the Dark Lord before Sauron.
