Sooo. . .

. . .after the last few comments left on this blog, I guess I need to write something here. I haven't taken many pictures lately (some photographer I am, huh?), so you're going to have to live with just words. For now.

We've had a few warm, sunny days the past couple of weeks, and all of us have just loved them. It's been so incredibly rainy that when the sun comes out, even just for a minute, we're all excited. The warmer weather also means more outside work, for which I'm thankful. After a long, cold winter, spring chores are quite refreshing! Gardening work is getting underway; I have some seeds in soil blocks, and as soon as the garden is tilled up, I'm planning on direct seeding some cooler weather crops such as spinach, lettuce, chard, etc. I'm also going to try a bit of companion planting this year and see how that goes. I've never done anything of the sort in the past, but I was reading one of my gardening books the other day and thought I might try it with a few varieties. We'll see.

Caleb's sheep herd is growing. After a couple of deaths due to malnutrition, three ewes each gave birth to healthy lambs. And my, are they cute! It's really neat to look out the window and see them running around the pasture playing with each other. But my favorite thing is watching them jump. Oh, it's hilarious! They must jump two or three feet in the air, over and over, bleating the whole time. I've never seen anything like it! God's creation is just so amazing to me.

School is still taking up a good bit of my time, though I hope to be finished with most of it within the next month or so. Then I'm planning on being a little more focused on my college degree. While I've been CLEPing out of classes the past couple of years, I haven't really made it a priority. I really need to sit down and figure out exactly what I'm planning on doing and get it all on paper.

That's a rather quick sketch of what's happened 'round here and also what our summer's going to look like. Farming, gardening, school when there's time, etc. I really need to get back into sewing, as well as music. Eh. Music. I'm afraid I've let that one slip a little too much. My poor piano teacher. :) My grandparents are also planning on building a cabin behind our place! Yippee! It will be wonderful to have them so close by. Even if they aren't moving right away, a house up here will guarantee many frequent visits. We hope.

So, this summer looks like it's going to be quite busy, but it's also promising some good work days and a lot of fun! Not to mention the warm weather. And I'm so looking forward to it!
