Spring is here!

Or rather summer is here. Doesn't the weather here know that we're supposed to have a period of not-too-hot-but-not-too-cold days called spring? Guess not, because I believe we just jumped from winter to summer.

But I'm not complaining. Really. I've enjoyed working outside in the wonderful sunshine quite a bit this week. We planted our garden, just in time for all the rain this weekend. It feels good to have that all done; now we're praying for God to reward our efforts with a good harvest later this summer. It's provided some good opportunities to work together and get out of the house. Some of us also helped some friends on their farm down the road. That was fun. Caleb has been out of town this past week, so I've had the pleasure of taking over his farm chores and, of course, some of the very necessary farm chore conversations that take place with the farm chore friend down the road. :)

I have not figured out, though, how to move the chickens without at least a few of them getting out. I think three is my record. I also haven't figured out how to get them back in. Every other day when I move the little birds, I always come back to the house calling Abigail and Anna to go catch the chickens that somehow escaped. They love it, and they can do it! I don't know what my problem is. And I don't see Caleb out chasing chickens in the pasture, which means that he moved the thing without letting them all out, right? So how's it supposed to be done? Huh?

I think I'm ready for Caleb to take over again.
