It's been a little while since I've given one of these. So there should be a lot for me to write about. And really, there is. I just have trouble making it all sound interesting. You know, some people have such a gift for that. Just about anything that they say or write is very entertaining. But, alas, I'm afraid my gifts are elsewhere. And I'm getting off track. . .
Our garden is doing very well, I think, for being our first one in a long, long, time and for being the first one here. Must be the good Tennessee soil. :) I believe there are some pictures here if you care to see it. The cucumbers are coming in like crazy! And, this might be rather ironic to some of you, I made pickles with a bunch of them the other day. Still waiting to see how they turn out. I also canned a bunch of green beans yesterday, and we picked our first squash as well!
Construction on the house (barn) is almost to a close. At least, we think it is. Red paint is slowly being put up, which really helps the 'barn' look. And dressers! Oh joy! Finally, we are able to get some dresser drawers up in the closet. That will be so nice to have. Many thanks to Mr. B, as well as Daddy, for all the hard work (and the ice cream!). But the biggest thing that has been completed lately is the back deck. And it is gorgeous! It's so good to have our doors-that-lead-to-nowhere now lead to somewhere! I think there are some pictures of that over at Elim Valley as well.
Well, I finally was able to try out the swimming hole of my own accord. Sort of. A couple of days ago, Caleb and I made our way down the road on the four-wheelers delivering a message to some neighbors and stopped by the swimming hole. It wasn't long before the rest of the family, minus Dad who was out running errands, showed up. And then the Stouffers decided to come, and so did the Lingos. Or at least half of them. Although the water was freezing cold, we had a good time. I wish I had had my camera. Oh well. But we spent all our dinner prep time swimming and obviously didn't plan ahead, so when we returned home, we were all hungry, but didn't know what to eat. Some of us voted to go out to eat, but others weren't up for that. So what do you do for dinner in a crunch? Pancakes! I mixed up the batter and then my wonderful brother declared himself "pancake man" for the night! I'll have to post more on that later. It just isn't worth it without the pictures.
We watched the movie Batman Begins last night with some friends. That was one cool movie! Now, we did watch it with ClearPlay; I think there was some language, but other than that is was great. It was somewhat intense, very well cast, and the actors knew what they were doing. It definitely gets two thumbs up from me. I can't wait to see the next one!
Okay, it seemed like I was going to post about something else. . . but I can't think of what it was. It's been a long day. Think. . .think. . .think. . . Nope, it's not coming to me. Oh well. Off to bed then. Maybe I'll remember tomorrow.
So if you "remember tomorrow" will you post it "tomorrow?" or is it one of those things where "tomorrow never comes?" ;) j/k
