Spare time. . .

. . .not something that comes along very often.

Today was kind of crazy. Or at least it went by way too fast. A few of us went this morning to get milk and a couple other grocery items from a nearby town and didn't get back till about 12:30pm or so. We grabbed a quick bite to eat for lunch then all of us kids went out to pick the green beans. And I'm telling you, this green bean picking time is real sibling bonding time.

"Look at all these you missed! Are you picking with your eyes closed?" "Do we have to listen to this song?" "Next year, these rows have got to be farther apart!" "Abi's getting ahead of me!" "So, do I get a penny for each one that I find that you missed?" "Only if I get a dollar for each one you missed!" "Can I pick the cucumbers?"

No really. We do have a good time. It's going to be boring when I have to pick them all by myself. But anyways, we came back inside, dripping with sweat, and after cleaning up the kitchen a bit, sat down at the table to snap. We put in an "Andy Barney" and snapped away, from the 16y/o all the way down to the 3y/o. Although, I think Jonathan was more into the movie than the snapping. Finally finishing up all that, I quickly washed them all before we headed over to my grandparents' place to help set up for a garage sale tomorrow. Hey, maybe that's what I was going to post about last night. I don't know. Anyways, after setting up and eating a wonderful dinner, we came back home where I had all these green beans just waiting for me to can! Oh boy! And since I thought I wasn't going to be here tomorrow, but it turns out that I will be, I was told to can them all tonight. So that's what I'm doing. Canning. And we have so much that I'm having to do two batches which means waiting for one batch in the canner to finish before doing the next. . . is any of this making any sense?

All that to say that right now I have some spare time. And I was going to use most of it to blog, but I have these pictures that I wanted to post and I guess the internet is just too slow or something because it's not posting any of them, and I've tried several times. Bummer.

Oh, and I'm jealous. I'm trying not to be, but I am. We found out the other day that some friends of ours just down the road, I mean just a few miles, have DSL. That is so not fair.

This is way longer than what I intended. I'm afraid it's just turned into a ramble since I don't really have much else to do, it being 10:30pm and all. I guess I could always work on some of my sewing projects. And that's a whole "nother" post right there! But right now, I'd much rather watch a movie or something.
